Jelly Entertainment has shuffled its C-level this week with the company appointing Steven Matsell as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Matsell will be replacing the incumbent, David Newstead, who has been serving as CEO since 2020.
Newstead will remain in the company and move into the position of Chief Business Development Officer, as he seeks to expand Jelly Entertainment’s footprint, and help the company strike more partnerships across numerous geographies and boost the firm’s sales funnel.
Commenting on his passing on the reins to Matsell, he hailed the incoming executive as someone who has a great working rapport with the outgoing CEO, and whose qualities and personality aligned perfectly with the culture and character of the company.
"It’s been an honor to watch Jelly grow into a globally recognized B2B supplier. Now feels like the right time to step aside, and I’m confident the company is in great hands with Steven," Newstead added.
Matsell, who is himself a well-seasoned veteran, was similarly excited to take over the position of company chief executive. He previously occupied a similar position with Leander Games, which was bought by RAW in 2022.
As to his most recent appointment, Matsell said that he was excited about this new role, and he was ready to work hard to live up to the expectations and talent surrounding him in Jelly Entertainment.
"My goal is to build on the strong foundation David established, accelerating growth and new market expansion while upholding our commitment to service, relationships, and value," he elaborated further.
The newly-anointed CEO was similarly pleased with his working relationship with Newstead and said that the company owed much of its success to him.
Now that Newstead is shifting to CBDO, Jelly Entertainment can rest assured that he will continue to identify and deliver new business opportunities and nurture international partnerships, Matsell wrapped up by commenting about his colleague.
Speaking of improving its reach, Jelly Entertainment has carried out two important partnerships intended to grow its international footprint, specifically a content tie-up with Scientific Games and one with EveryMatrix.
