Jackpocket customer in New York wins $2 million from Powerball

The first licensed third-party lottery courier app in the United States, Jackpocket, announced that a ticket for the Powerball purchased in New York hit a $2m prize. Last week, the company revealed that the winning ticket was ordered through the Jackpocket app and hit the hefty $2m prize from the drawing on October 2, 2023, a statement released Friday reveals.

The lucky winner was able to guess correctly all five white numbers from the Powerball drawing at the time. Yet, they fell short and were not able to correctly predict the red Powerball, which would've granted them a billion-dollar prize. The prize for the winning ticket was $1m, however, thanks to the Power Play option, the user was able to increase their payout to $2m.

In light of the growing grand prize for Powerball, which by now surpasses $1.5b, the third largest jackpot in the history of the game, Jackpocket is giving new users a free ticket. New users of the lottery courier app can receive a $2 ticket for free by downloading it and entering a special FREEPB code when they are checking out.

Overall, Jackpocket users have secured more than $350 million in prizes from Jackpocket. Notably, a lucky LOTTO player in Arkansas recently hit the mouth-watering $5.75m grand prize, while a record $9.4m was hit from Pick-6 in New Jersey. The $9.4m prize represented the single largest win ever won on a mobile device within the legal and regulated gambling sector in the United States. Moreover, Jackpocket revealed that some 33 people using its app have secured prizes of $1m or more.

Pete Sullivan, Jackpocket's CEO and Founder, was excited about the recently announced win. "We can't wait to celebrate this New York lottery winner," he said.
