International Game Technology (IGT), a company that specializes in the provision of responsible gambling technology and solutions for the land-based and online gaming sectors, has announced a three-year extension of its ongoing lottery contract with AB Svenska Spel, a prominent state-owned operator in Sweden. The contract now extends through January 2027, with the potential to continue working together moving forward.

As a result of this collaboration, Svenska Spel will continue to benefit from cutting-edge video lottery technology provided so far by IGT. The contract covers both new technological advances as well as ongoing services that will allow Svenska Spel to bring the best lottery experience to its players. This includes the INTELLIGEN central system that empowers partner operators to assume control over their entire fleet of terminals.

The contract also covers 4,000 Quasar Video Lottery Terminals, a wide range of excellent and player-favorite games, and the dedicated cashless technology that facilitates onboarding through the use of IGTPay. Commenting on this opportunity Svenska Spel Business Area Manager Casino Cosmopol & Vegas Ola Enquist said that the company was very happy to embark on this new chapter of the two company’s journey.

Enquist said that IGT had been instrumental in the operator’s sustained growth and modernization, and that it was an honor to see the contract extended by further three years. Enquist concluded:

"IGT provides the ideal content, technology and services that enable Svenska Spel to responsibly grow our enterprise and engage our guests with next-generation experiences and future-forward innovation."

A similarly positive response was received by IGT SVP EMEA Gaming Mark MacCombie who welcomed the opportunity to see his company continue to deliver cutting-edge solutions to the Swedish market. MacCombie added that IGT will continue to strengthen and build upon the solid foundation already established in Sweden with the help of Svenska Spel.

Not least, the IGT representative also hailed Svenska Spel for its own unflinching commitment to providing players with the best possible experiences and ongoing efforts to secure the best possible technology that can be shared with players in a bid to elevate and enhance the gaming experience across the board.

IGT has been growing its footprint in the meantime, delivering its products and services to lotteries in Europe and North America. The company recently signed up with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC), which is authorized to conduct lottery activities in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada.
