iGaming Ontario continue to strengthen its commitment to responsible gambling, with the company vowing to work closely with Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) and IXUP in a renewed bid to develop a fresh and more efficient self-exclusion program for the provincial market.

Ontario to get a new self-exclusion program

Both IC360 and IXUP have a successful track record in developing advanced self-exclusion solutions such as IXUP’s BetStop solution and IC360’s ProhiBet, having already proven game-changers for jurisdictions that are trying to beef up their responsible gambling commitment and introduce efficient and viable self-exclusion programs.

The partners have touted their joint project as a "first-of-its-kind," arguing that it will seek to significantly improve responsible gambling in Ontario and serve as a blueprint for other similar responsible gambling-centered initiatives across North America.

Based on this partnership, IC360 and IXUP will work together to build a system that will be able to integrate seamlessly with all operators across Ontario, including OLG.ca. Anyone who is 19 or older will be able to create and manage a self-exclusion profile, empowering consumers to make the best choices for themselves.

The program will of course rely on time-tested and best practices such as identity verification, renewal, reinstatement process, and more, all of which are intuitive, simple, and straightforward.

iGaming Ontario Executive Director Martha Otton has welcomed this new opportunity and said that it reflects the ongoing commitment to protecting players from harm in Ontario and beyond.

"With IC360’s tech-first expertise in betting integrity through ProhiBet and IXUP’s demonstrated success with BetStop in Australia, we’re confident they will help us build a robust self-exclusion system for Ontarians who decide to take a short- or long-term break from gambling," Otton explained.

IC360 President Eric Frank was similarly pleased with the opportunity to be a part of iGaming Ontario’s continuous effort to raise standards of consumer care, he noted. He noted that the ProhiBet tool and education services provided by IC360 were an important part of the process of strengthening responsible gambling and helping vulnerable consumers.

Raising consumer standards in self-exclusion programs

On a similar note, IXUP CEO Al Watson added that this new trilateral partnership constitutes a turning point for responsible gambling in North America.

Watson pointed out that IXUP has worked very hard to establish a sterling reputation for providing responsible gambling products worldwide, and that the company was now extremely happy to move forward with this plan.

The news was of course welcomed by OLG CEO and President Duncan Hannay who said that this new self-exclusion initiative is an important milestone for players to help strengthen companies’ and operators’ commitment to their well-being.
