ICRG taps Ashlee Olujic as Director of Tribal and Community Engagement

• ICRG has appointed a member of the Oneida Nation as its new Director of Tribal and Community Engagement

The International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) has appointed Ashlee Olujic as its new Director of Tribal and Community Engagement as it continues to strengthen its team and leadership structure.

ICRG keen to strengthen tribal gaming ties

Olujic comes from the Oneida Nation, which makes her uniquely positioned to understand the need for stronger tribal engagement. Commenting on her appointment, ICRG President Michael Soll had this to add:

"Ashlee brings a powerful combination of professional skills, academic insight, and commitment to tribal partnership. Her leadership will help advance our mission to support high-quality research and education on gambling disorder while strengthening collaboration with tribal nations."

The center has hailed tribal gaming as playing a "critical role" in supporting economic developmenta nd essential communityservices across tribal nations, making it doubly important for the ICRG to remain engaged with them, and help address any potential adverse impacts of gaming.

Olujic will seek to strengthen the rapport between the organization and various tribal community stakeholders, inluidng elected leadership, and regulators. Olujic herself was excited to be stepping into this position, pointing out to the importance of independent research on gambling disorder and responsible gaming.

Olujic argues that advancing research on gambling disorder is crucial

She argued that by advancing the ICRG’s understanding in these areas, effective measures can be applied across prevention, education, and treatment.

"I’m honored to help strengthen partnerships between tribal nations and ICRG to support meaningful dialogue and ensure research findings are accessible and relevant to tribal communities," Olujic wrapped up.

The ICRG has been conducting groundbreaking research and studies of how gambling disordersevolve and what triggers these conditions. The center has also received significant donations from leading sports betting companies to advance this work.
