Gaming Laboratories International has another milestone to celebrate, as the testing agency has become the first to achieve accreditation in Maranhão, Brazi. The milestone is welcomed by GLI which is looking forward to providing its own certifications to relevant and regulated companies in the state, Casino Guru News learned in an email press release.
Moving forward, GLI will offer its services to lottery and fixed-odds betting operators in the state, as the company is also pivoting towards a new market, and expanding its presence in Brazil and the Latin American region at the same time.
With the Lottery of the State of Maranhão, this is now the third jurisdiction in which GLI has been authorized to provide its products in Brazil, signaling the accreditation specialist is serious about securing further positions as the market is preparing to officially launch on January 1, 2025, but hundreds of companies have already been whitelisted by the government.
In this dynamic context, GLI has found a strong foothold in the country, welcomed by Cassiano Pereira Junior, President of Maranhão Parcerias.
"Every day we strive to make Lotema even better, providing greater security for its users. The partnership with GLI is a concrete way of achieving this goal, as its certification laboratories play an important role for the gaming and lottery industry, guaranteeing the conformity, security, and integrity of the products and systems used by Lotema," Pereira said.
GLI also thanked the lottery and welcomed the accreditation, having become the first in the state to provide these services, and empowering licensee-holders by offering them a technical compliance process that ensures transparency, integrity and accountability.
GLI will offer certifications that are based on the jurisdictional prerequisites set out by the regulator, the company said in the press release, and these certifications will be issued once the jurisdiction itself becomes available.
"We are grateful to Lotema and excited to be part of its thriving industry," GLI VP of Latin America, Caribbean, and Spain Karen Sierra-Hughes said, commenting on this deal.
