Gaming Corps names Fredrik Geijer Chief Financial Officer

The publicly listed game development company based in Sweden, Gaming Corps, confirmed a new senior-level appointment.

On Monday, the company said it picked the executive with solid experience, Fredrik Geijer, for the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Current CFO to step down in February

While Gaming Corps confirmed the appointment this week, it explained that Geijer will assume the role, effective from February next year.

Mikael Bäckström, who was appointed to the role of CFO back in 2022, will keep this position until February 20, 2026.

Effective from February 21, 2026, Geijer will assume the role of CFO.

Per Gaming Corps' announcement, while Bäckström has chosen to step down from his CFO role at the company, he will remain part of the organization.

Bäckström will ensure the smooth handover of responsibilities and, in his future role, will provide strategic support for the future growth of Gaming Corps.

In November, Gaming Corps confirmed the appointment of Graham Greensmith to the role of Chief Commercial Officer.

Gaming Corps has a solid foundation for future growth

Geijer spoke with excitement about the latest announcement, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.

The future CFO at Gaming Corps commended the company for its strong operational foundation and ongoing positive momentum.

"With that groundwork in place, the company now has a real opportunity to advance its position and compete at the very top tier of global game development," he said.

Moreover, Geijer pointed out: "I’m excited to join at such a pivotal moment and work closely with Mikael to ensure a seamless and effective transition into the CFO role."

Juha Kauppinen, Gaming Corps' CEO, spoke about the ongoing development of the company, acknowledging it enters the next phase of its growth.

In light of this ongoing expansion, the CEO stressed that strengthening its financial leadership is part of a clearly established strategy for Gaming Corps.

"We’re building a structure that allows us to take a major step forward and genuinely challenge the world’s leading game studios, and Fredrik’s international experience and proven track record make him an excellent fit for this journey," Kauppinen said.

Finally, the CEO pointed out: "We are grateful for Mikael’s continued contribution and pleased he will remain with us during this transition."

Overall, Geijer has more than 20 years of senior financial leadership experience.

Throughout his extensive career, he has also accumulated solid knowledge in international audit.

Ahead of his appointment at Gaming Corps, Geijer most recently held the role of CFO at Cemvision.
