GamblePause becomes Clarion Gaming Safer Gambling Charity Partner

Clarion Gaming has picked GamblePause as its new Safer Gambling Charity partner for 2026. GamblePause is an independent social organization that has been created to fight gambling-related harm across the continent of Africa and offer support to those in need.

The partnership will be part of the ICE Barcelona, iGB Affiliate Barcelona, and iGB L!VE London industry shows, which will raise GamblePause’s profile as an organization committed to safeguarding and aiding consumers against gambling-related harm, as well as emphasize Clarion Gaming’s own commitment to helping make the industry safer.

Clarion Gaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter welcomed the addition of GamblePause as the organization’s Safer Gambling Charity Partner for 2026 as well, hailing the organization’s track record.

Stuart explained that GamblePause was able to reach out to more than 5,500 individuals through community awareness sessions, workshops, and digital campaigns, and it has supported 3,000 people in one-to-one interactions, leveraging empirical evidence and best practices as to how to help strengthen consumer protections.

"As a result of being named our Safer Gambling Charity Partner, GamblePause will become an integral part of the industry conversations at ICE Barcelona, iGB Affiliate Barcelona, and iGB L!VE London, in the process gaining a global platform to promote its program and drive awareness of its safer gambling initiatives across the entire gaming ecosystem," Stuart explained.

GamblePause will benefit from high-profile branding at this year’s Clarion Gaming exhibitions, which would help the organization boost its reach.

"I’m extremely proud that we were the first event organiser in the gambling space to establish an annual safer gambling partnership, and the initiative is central to our ongoing commitment to help build a sustainable and socially responsible future," he added.

GamblePause Founder Ladipo Abiose Akolade was similarly pleased with the developments and hailed the opportunity to see the organization team up with one of the most prominent industry event hosts.

"The partnership provides an unrivalled global platform to amplify safer gambling messaging across Africa, it strengthens our credibility, and enables direct engagement with industry leaders to advance responsible and sustainable gambling practices," Akolade said.

This is not the first initiative that Clarion Gaming has undertaken to burnish its sustainability and responsible gambling bona fides for its upcoming events. Earlier this month, ICE Barcelona confirmed GameCheck, a company that checks the authenticity and fairness of online casino games, as its headline SGZ sponsor.

"The opportunities arising from this unique partnership, will help us to scale gambling-harm awareness campaigns across Africa, expand rehabilitation pathways, deliver evidence-informed safer gambling education for operators, regulators, and communities across Africa, engage policymakers and industry leaders to strengthen player-protection and harm-prevention policies, and promote practical, preventative solutions that safeguard vulnerable groups. All of this work is underpinned by a steadfast commitment to early intervention among young people," Akolade concluded.
