Fanatics Betting & Gaming names Hank Couture COO

Fast-growing mobile betting, gaming and retail sportsbook platform, Fanatics Betting & Gaming, expanded its C-suite after announcing a new appointment. On Wednesday, the company unveiled that it hired the services of Hank Couture as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The latest appointment, announced by Fanatics, sees Couture join the company ahead of a significant expansion planned. This is because the company confirmed that in mid-2023, it expects to launch its Fanatics Sportsbook.

Having Couture join as COO will undoubtedly help with that process. Additionally, Fanatics explained in a statement that its new COO is expected to play a pivotal role in the development strategies related to Fanatics Sportsbook.

Commenting on the appointment, Couture said: "This is an exciting opportunity to build something from the ground up." Finally, he pointed out: "I look forward to bringing my knowledge and experience in building DoorDash to the sports betting industry and help build something that exceeds expectations for our customers."

Before joining Fanatics Betting & Gaming, Couture was part of a technology company that serves as a bridge between local businesses around the globe called DoorDash. The company helps connect businesses in 27 countries around the world.

During his tenure at DoorDash, Couture held the role of Vice President and was in charge of the company's US Marketplace. This involved overseeing processes related to merchandising, promotions, pricing, growth and loyalty, among other strategic operational segments.

Couture first joined DoorDash back in 2016 and played a pivotal role in the company's growth, helping it become an industry leader in e-commerce. Throughout his career with the company, he has held multiple leadership-level roles that ultimately contributed to its global growth. Besides DoorDash, Couture was also a part of Goldman Sachs.

Without any doubt, the extensive experience and skills will help Fanatics' new COO. Matt King, the company's CEO, also commented on the topic saying: "We are excited to add Hank to our leadership team as COO."

Recently, Fanatics Betting & Gaming was one of the three new members that showed support to a Responsible Gambling Coalition. Besides Fanatics, other new members that joined the coalition included Hard Rock Digital and PointsBet.
