The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has welcomed its newest member, Tipico - a leading German sports betting and online gaming operator - which shares the same core values as the association and is committed to safeguarding the integrity of gaming and betting contests.

Tipico becomes the latest member of Europe’s seminal gambling trade group

Through the integration into the larger EGBA family, Tipico will have the opportunity to continue to champion the safety, integrity, and sustainability of the online gaming industry, adhering to and promoting best practices.

Tipico Director of Public Policy Jochen Weiner has welcomed the opportunity to see his company join one of the best-established trade bodies focusing on promoting regulatory excellence and player protection, and contributing to the association’s seminal work.

"This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting high industry standards and our fight against the black market for online gambling in Europe."

EGBA Secretary-General Maarten Haijer was similarly pleased to see the trade body start 2026 with such an important addition. He hailed Tipico as an operator that brings valuable expertise to the association and reinforces the collective effort to strengthen the gambling sector in the region.

"We look forward to working closely with our new colleagues on our shared commitment to high industry standards," Haijer added. Tipico is an important member hailing from Germany, one of Europe’s most tightly-regulated markets, which will contribute its expertise in navigating demanding local frameworks and share the experience with European operators.

EGBA has been committed to building a sustainable industry while also addressing the threat of black market operations in the region.
