Codere has partnered with OKTO as it seeks to include a mobile cashless payments service across its Spanish operations. The OKTO Wallet app and platform will be integrated into Codere's gambling machines throughout Spain and, possibly, other jurisdictions in the future. Codere will then include the option in its retail betting outlets.

Codere's objective through the new initiative is to allow its users the ability to make deposits and withdrawals in real-time from any of its gaming or betting touchpoints. This includes both digital and traditional verticals.

Emilio Miranda, Director of Operations at Codere Spain, said in a press release, "For Codere, technology is always an enabler for growth. As we are now competing in an increasingly digitalised environment, our partnership with OKTO is well-timed, enabling us to step into the digital, robust cashless era, expanding our offering."

The arrangement will also include an easier gambling element with "various responsible gaming tools" integrated into Greece-based OKTO's App. Nacho Frade, OKTO's country manager for Spain, asserts that Codere's fraud and theft risks will be greatly mitigated by the introduction of the cashless option.

OKTO has expanded its network betting and gaming partners through the new partnership. The list also includes Parimatch and Kaizen Gaming. Kaizen Gaming is behind the Betano and Stoixman brands, and OKTO's cashless option has found its way into both companies.

"OKTO leads the cashless revolution and drives digital transformation across European gaming leisure and entertainment industries. It meets Codere user's desire for a smooth digitalized, seamless journey," added Frade.

OKTO was awarded the title of Mobile Payment Solution Of The Year at the 8th edition of the SBC Awards. This was presented in front of an industry audience at Evolution London on December 14 of last year. The brand, considered a leader in innovative digital payments solutions and applications in multiple industries such as gaming, leisure and retail, beat a lot of other high-profilecontenders in the annual awards.
