Clarion Gaming has elected BetBlocker as its official charity partner for 2024/2025, the company said in a press release. BetBlocker will step into this new role for both the ICE and iGB Affiliate due to take place at the Fira de Barcelona on January 20-22, 2025, and the iGB L!VE event in July 2025.
BetBlocker is a company that specializes in the provision of free, anonymous, accessible and robust gambling-blocking apps that allow players to gain control of their gambling habits and scale back on harmful practices.
The tool has been developed rapidly over the past years, with BetBlocker enjoying unprecedented interest at a time when responsible gambling has become a core principle in the industry. Duncan Garvie, BetBlocker CEO, has called the growth the company had enjoyed in recent months "exponential" in a recent interview with Casino Guru News.
Commenting on the new opportunity provided to BetBlocker by Clarion Gaming, Pedro Romero, Chief of SG Partnerships at BetBlocker, stated:
"Being named Clarion Gaming charity partner is a fantastic honor and is a recognition of our commitment to promoting safer gambling worldwide. This partnership also underscores the gaming industry’s growing awareness and commitment to social responsibility."
The opportunity is more than a nod to the growing need and demand for cutting-edge solutions that put the focus squarely on players and seek to protect consumers, argued Romero. ICE, iGB Affiliate and iGB L!VE all are unique global platforms that will allow BetBlocker to amplify its message and connect with key stakeholders, making a real difference in the company’s efforts to minimize gambling-related harm.
"This opportunity strengthens our resolve to collaborate with all stakeholders, including the gambling industry, to prioritize the well-being of players," Romero added.
BetBlocker already has a plan in place to live up to its distinct role as a charity partner, with the company planning on hosting engaging sessions on safer gambling that will further highlight BetBlocker’s impact in providing an effective way to protect consumers while seeking to raise additional funds.
Most recently, BetBlocker has embarked on several new projects, including translations of its core software to help Maltese-speaking consumers as well as a concentrated effort to reach Eastern European communities in the United Kingdom who may struggle with English but are still very much susceptible to the negative consequences of gambling.
