Canadian Gaming Summit reveals Sports Betting conference track

The Canadian Gaming Summit is going to feature a range of experiences for industry specialists, with the "Leaders" conference track confirmed last month and now, the event revealing the arrival of the "Sports Betting" conference track that will add to the value of the gathering due to take place in Toronto, Canada on June 13-15, 2023.

The Sports Betting conference track has been set for Wednesday, June 14 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center where the event will be held. The conference track will focus on providing attendees with access to a variety of panels that tackle and discuss matters that happen exclusively in the sports betting vertical.

This includes but isn’t limited to discussions about regulations, integrity, player protection, leveraging social media content, and more to build a robust brand identity and equity. The conference track will open with the "Sports betting across Canada: navigating the patchwork of a provincial rollout" panel, which will speak about the regulatory changes that happened in the Canadian market since the regulation of single-sports betting in the country. Amongst the panellists are:

  • Doug Hood, Project Director Gaming Modernization, AGCO
  • Bruce Caughill, Managing Director Canada, Rush Street Interactive
  • Mike Maodus, Associate, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP

The panel will be moderated by Salim Adatia, who is VP at Gaming Labs International. This is not the only anticipated panel, as there is also the "Partner and play – collaboration between Canadian teams, leagues and sportsbooks" discussion which will touch on how sportsbooks and sports organizations are collaborating. The panel will feature experts such as:

  • Aubrey Levy, SVP Content & Marketing, TheScore
  • Kuljeet Sindhar, Associate VP at International Gaming & Data Ventures for the NBA
  • Owen Welsh, Associate Vice President, Sports Betting, Gaming and Innovation, Canadian Football League
  • Andrew Stokes, Senior Director – Global Partnership Group, Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment

The final panel of the conference will wrap up with another interesting and ground-breaking topic. The panel, "Esports betting in Canada: investing, reducing friction and opening up a new audience," will take a look at how sportsbooks and betting companies can engage with esports fans who have not been "tapped into" just yet. The panel will feature a number of specialists and experts in the field, including:

  • Melanie Penner, Founder at Manitoba Esports Association
  • Alex Igelman, CEO at Esports Entertainment
  • Daniel Sanders, Director of Marketing, Luckbox
  • Alex Kozachenko, Chief Product Officer, Data Be
  • Ng Hai, Integrity Ambassador at ESIC

All in all, the upcoming event will have nine total tracks for attendees to explore, among which are Leaders, Landscape, iGaming, and now Sports Betting, among others.
