The leading global sports technology company, Sportradar Group AG, strengthened its Board of Directors with a new appointment.
The company said Monday it elected the former Paddy Power Betfair executive, Breon Corcoran, to its Board of Directors.
Corcoran holds a BA in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin, as well as an MBA from INSEAD.
He has extensive experience, holding senior-level roles and a track record as a leader.
Back in 2016, Corcoran was recognized as "Business Leader of the Year" by The Sunday Times.
Throughout his extensive career, he held a number of C-suite roles with recognizable companies, leading teams in Europe, Australia, as well as the U.S.
Between August 2012 and February 2016, he was employed by Betfair plc.
On the other hand, between February 2016 and January 2018, he worked for Paddy Power Betfair plc, the leading online betting and iGaming operator now known as Flutter Entertainment.
More recently, from October 2018 until August 2022, Corcoran was Chief Executive Officer at the international payments company formerly known as WorldRemit Group, Zepz.
In addition to his role as a member of the Board of Directors at Sportradar, Corcoran is currently CEO of IG Group.
Only recently, Sportradar announced the completion of IMG Arena and betting rights assets acquisition.
Corcoran shared his excitement in a press release saying: "Sportradar has built an impressive business in sports technology, and its potential for continued expansion and innovation is enormous."
Moreover, the new member of the Board added: "With my background in betting, gaming, and fintech, I am looking forward to working with Jeff, Carsten, and the rest of the Board of Directors to contribute to the company’s journey and help drive long-term value for its stakeholders."
Carsten Koerl, Sportradar's Chief Executive Officer and Founder, was similarly delighted with the latest senior-level appointment.
"Breon joins our Board at an exciting time as we continue to innovate in sports technology and expand our global footprint," the executive said.
Finally, Koerl praised Corcoran for his leadership and solid experience, predicting that he will play a major role in Sportradar's future growth and expansion.
