BetMGM and Century Casinos team up for sports betting in Missouri

The casino entertainment company with a strong presence in a number of gambling markets across the United States, Century Casinos, Inc., continues to grow its portfolio of partners.

Earlier this week, the company announced it had joined forces with the leading sports betting and gaming entertainment company, BetMGM, for a new sports betting partnership in Missouri.

Ahead of the launch of legal sports betting, BetMGM secures a spot in Missouri

Under the terms of the new sports betting agreement, Century Casinos' subsidiary, Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau, signed a long-term deal with BetMGM, which will bring the latter's sports betting platform to customers in Missouri.

As a result, BetMGM will leverage Century's license in the state, operating an online and mobile sports betting app.

According to a press release, the deal "includes a percentage of net gaming revenue payable to Century, with a guaranteed minimum, as well as retail sportsbook options to be exercised at Century's discretion."

Still, Century Casinos explained that the new long-term collaboration is contingent on securing all relevant regulatory approvals and gaming licenses.

On the ballot last year in November, Missouri voters narrowly approved Amendment 2, effectively legalizing sports betting.

The legislation proposes the new gambling activity to be regulated by the Missouri Gaming Commission and the voters' decision paved the way for the expansion of legal betting.

Despite the official legalization of the activity, Missouri is yet to introduce sports betting.

The official launch of legal online wagering on sports is expected by December 1, 2025.

Century Casinos is delighted to team up with BetMGM

Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Century Casinos' Co-Chief Executive Officers, spoke about the importance of the new collaboration with BetMGM in Missouri.

In addition, Haitzmann and Hoetzinger pointed out: "This partnership is another step forward in leveraging our Missouri licenses and delivering premium entertainment experiences for our customers."

Earlier this month, Century Casinos posted its first quarter results, reporting strong figures despite weather impacts.

The Q1 2025 report revealed that while revenue decreased slightly year-over-year, the company successfully implemented cost-cutting strategies at the Nugget and achieved a range of other strategic objectives.
