Ahead of the opening of the regulated gambling market in Alberta, Canada, the leading digital platforms and software provider, Bede Gaming, secured a license.
The company has announced it obtained a conditional one-year iGaming Goods or Services Supplier license from the gambling regulator in Alberta, the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).
The license represents a major milestone for Bede Gaming as it positions the company among the first licensed providers ahead of the opening of the regulated iGaming market in Alberta.
As of January 2026, Alberta started accepting registrations by iGaming operators and software providers.
Planning similar success to the one recorded with the opening of the online casino market in Ontario, Alberta, is planning to create a strong and competitive market.
Ultimately, this is expected to make Alberta an enticing destination for gambling operators interested in expanding their reach.
Colin Cole-Johnson, Bede Gaming's Chief Executive Officer, confirmed that the company is thrilled to obtain a conditional license to offer its services in Alberta, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
He explained that this milestone achievement positions Bede Gaming well for further success, while enabling the company to support the expansion of operators in the province.
"We have a longstanding investment in the Canadian iGaming industry, and I’m eager for the exciting opportunities ahead in this new market," Cole-Johnson added.
Last but not least, the executive pointed out: "As one of the first applicants to be formally recognized by the regulator, Bede offers a truly localized service to its partners, and the fact that we’re SOC 2 certified will allow them to hit the ground running as soon as they’re ready to launch."
By obtaining the license from the AGLC, Bede Gaming will be authorized to offer its services and solutions to operators in the newly-regulated market, as soon as it officially goes live.
This will effectively grant operators access to the company's suite of in-house products, as well as more than 150 third-party integrations, enabling them to scale up their services and engage with customers.
