Bally’s has become the latest member to join the newly formed industry-member-led body, the Responsible Online Gaming Association or ROGA, which is aimed at strengthening responsible gambling in the United States and act proactively in addressing gambling-related harm.

Bally’s Corporation to boost RG efforts in US through ROGA membership

The addition of Bally’s Corporation is an important step forward for ROGA as a whole, as the association is actively looking to bolster its numbers and secure participation from the largest gambling companies in the sector, as responsible gambling becomes a core focus of legislative and private efforts.

Bally’s not alone in promoting safer gambling in the United States, as ROGA is represented by multiple private companies, including bet365, BetMGM, Hard Rock Digital, PENN Entertainment, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, FanDuel, and DraftKings presently. The number of private companies looking to join is growing.

As a unit, ROGA’s members are looking to standardize their efforts in promoting safer and responsible gambling and contribute funding to research and studies of the sector, and what triggers problem gambling in individuals, with the ultimate goal of establishing the best gambling practices across the industry.

Commenting on this opportunity, Dr Jennifer Shatley, executive director of ROGA, said that the association was absolutely thrilled to see Bally’s Corp. join the collective efforts to ensure that the online sports betting and online casino gaming industries are safe and fun for every American.

"Bringing on additional operators fulfils ROGA's commitment to industry-wide collaboration, and I am encouraged and excited for the future of responsible gaming as we work together to enhance consumer protections and collectively amplify RG education efforts," Shatley said.

ROGA to leverage member contributions to strengthen RG

As to Bally’s Corporation, the company’s CEO, Robeson Reeves, has welcomed the opportunity to join ROGA and contribute to the ongoing efforts to make gambling safer in the United States.

By collaborating with all members, Reeves explained, the company can enhance the RG initiative, help fund research, educate consumers and develop best practices.

ROGA has so far dedicated more than $20m to support all of the above with more funding possibly coming in as new members join and results are delivered.
