The trade body representing the interests of Britain's amusements and high street gaming manufacturers and operators, Bacta, strengthened its team with a new addition.
Amid the ongoing changes to the gambling industry in the United Kingdom, Bacta confirmed the strategic appointment of Declan Johnson, to the key role of Public Affairs Advisor.
Joining the trade body which plays an important role by representing the gaming machine and amusement industry in the UK, the executive brings solid experience relevant to his role.
As Public Affairs Advisor, Johnson will leverage his extensive skills, knowledge and experience, accumulated through years of hard work and dedication.
In his role with Bacta, the executive will report directly to the trade body's Executive Director of Government Relations, George McGregor, a statement reveals.
Taking on the role of Public Affairs Advisor, Johnson will be in charge of the development and implementation of Bacta's public affairs strategies, while also overseeing relationships with companies within the sector.
Besides ensuring successful collaboration with existing stakeholders, Johnson will play a key role in the relationships with new partners.
Not unexpectedly, given his extensive knowledge, he will provide advice when it comes to issues related to public affairs, while also planning and executing different campaigns.
An important aspect of Johnson's work will revolve around the analysis of trends and public opinion.
Before the Public Affairs Advisor role at Bacta, the experienced exec held the role of Account Executive at The Terrapin Group.
Johnson's professional background includes an internship role with Grayling.
He also served as a Senior and Research Development Associate at Strategy Insights, among other important roles.
George McGregor, Bacta's Executive Director, shared his excitement about the latest appointment.
He explained that the hire comes at a pivotal moment for the gambling sector in the country, considering the recent elections and changes to the sector.
McGregor added: "We operate in a highly regulated sector, and it is imperative that we have a progressive dialogue with all political stakeholders and establish effective representation at the heart of government."
Moreover, he added: "Declan, whose background includes terms working in Political Communications and mainstream Public Relations will be part of the team ensuring that Bacta's voice is heard in all of the key debates impacting developments at the coast and on the high street."
Last but not least, McGregor predicted that Johnson would play a key role in helping Bacta achieve its objectives amid the reform of the sector.
