Altenar, the prominent iGaming software provider, will continue to operate successfully in Sweden, with the company now reaffirming its commitment to the market and under the upcoming change in the regulatory regime.

Sweden has been working to actively bring suppliers into the fold and create a gambling framework that will expect them to actively avoid providing any services to operators that may be targeting Swedish citizens but do not have the necessary licensure to do so.

Altenar now has passed the licensing process and will join the dozens of other suppliers that have all intentions to continue catering to the local market. Commenting on the recent success, Altenar Technical Compliance Manager Marina Zacharopoulou said that the company was excited to have undergone this rigorous process.

As a result, Altenar can demonstrate its commitment to upholding the highest responsible gaming standards, as well as its clear focus on quality. "Altenar remains dedicated to maintaining its reputation as a trusted and reliable provider of gaming software," Zacharopoulou concluded.

Meanwhile, Altenar has been undergoing interesting developments in other geographies. Licensed in dozens of markets internationally, the company has been fast expanding. To ensure that it continues to do so with a steady hand, Altenar recently appointed Charlie Williamsas its new Commercial Director.

All the while, the company has been signing partnerships with various operators around the world. In Bulgaria, the company teamed up with Palms Bet for the provision of iGaming solutions. The two companies have also worked together in Kenya. Altenar is also expanding in Latin America with MiCasino.

Back in Sweden, Spelinspektionen, which is the national regulator, has been issuing licenses ahead of the new regime change on July 1, 2023. Some of the most recent companies to have obtained these licenses include LeoVegas and GiG. Sweden remains a tempting market for suppliers, operators, and not least – its own consumers who are revelling in a varied and safe iGaming experience.
