Facing the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers recorded a strong start in the 2026/27 National Football League (NFL) season with a win.
Still, there are some questions regarding the latter team’s veteran core and to what ability those players can continue to perform.
In this context, Casino Guru News talked to the award-winning NFL reporter, insider and analyst, Jason La Canfora.
In an exclusive interview, the League insider pointed to potential issues regarding several key 49ers players like Trent Williams, Nick Bosa and Christian McCaffrey.
"Christian McCaffrey after 400 touches last year at running back in his injury history, is that declining, diminishing returns? Does left tackle Trent Williams really have one more all-pro level season in him, or is Father Time catching up to him," La Canfora questioned.
The insider then focused on another 49ers player, George Kittle, acknowledging that he is coming into this football season with an injury which means he likely won’t be at 100% and "probably more of a blocker than a pass."
What’s more, La Canfora questioned Nick Bosa’s ability to stay on the field, asking if he is going to stay healthy.
Finally, the NFL analyst and insider said: "And if this team gets off to a poor start, there’s a real chance that they could be a seller and not a buyer at the trade deadline because they’re going to have the kind of commodities older towards the end of their contracts than other GMs are going to be willing to take on and think if we get them in our building, it could be better."
