Rich Gannon, the American former professional football player and legendary MVP, recently spoke about the Las Vegas Raiders' quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, revealing how the young player can develop in the league.
Now, the legendary quarterback highlighted several of Mendoza's qualities, leadership skills, and traits that can make him successful in the NFL.
"I'd be surprised if Fernando Mendoza goes unscathed through this first year or even his second year. I think there's going to be some setbacks, which is OK. I think the guy's got a big upside," Gannon said in a recent interview.
The MVP who played for 17 seasons in the NFL acknowledged Mendoza's impressive physical skill set, adding that he is not only a big guy, but also a mentally tough player.
"I think he's got natural leadership skills. He's a good communicator," Gannon continued, highlighting more of the Raiders quarterback's traits.
According to Gannon, Fernando Mendoza also stands out as a player who learns quickly.
The NFL legend added: "I think he likes to be coached hard."
Mendoza is also a team player that "fits well into Klint Kubiak's system of football," Gannon explained, saying that the young quarterback may also run the stretch game.
"I think he's really good on the move with the, with the naked's and the boots and the quarterback movement type throws. I think he can sit in the pocket and deal from the pocket as well," the former professional football player said in conclusion.
