Ahead of the upcoming trade deadline, National Football League (NFL) franchises are looking forward to strengthening their defenses.
One of the teams that may consider such a move is the Los Angeles Chargers, the award-winning NFL reporter, analyst and insider, Jason La Canfora, suggests.
"There's, there's too much desire out there, and there are teams that are listening. Khalil Mack of the Chargers might be the first one to go," the insider revealed in an exclusive interview for Casino Guru News.
According to La Canfora, while there are several teams interested in Mack, there's a high chance for the Chargers pass rusher to return to the Chicago Bears.
"A return to the Bears is something that's being discussed internally in Chicago, as I hear it, and it's a move that multiple NFL executives told me that they would not be surprised at all of, if it happens. The Bears are familiar with Mack," the insider and analyst continued.
La Canfora pointed to the relatively low base salary for Mack, which makes him an appealing trade target, despite his substantial overall earnings this season.
"He's making a lot of money this year, but about $10m already came upfront in terms of what the Chargers paid him as a signing bonus. So, the base salary is low," the league analyst and reporter explained.
Those factors are going to make Mack and have made him an appealing potential trade target for many NFL teams, La Canfora argued.
In conclusion, the NFL insider said: "He's going to go. It's just a matter of when and it's probably sooner rather than later."
