The NFL trade deadline is approaching, and in a recent interview for ESPN, Garrett Wilson, the New York Jets' wide receiver, revealed that he doesn't want to be traded but certainly misses winning games.
Despite that, he's one of the players who may be traded before the deadline, award-winning NFL reporter, analyst and insider, Jason La Canfora, suggests.
"Garrett Wilson, former top pick of theirs, he's someone who could go at the deadline," the insider explained in an exclusive interview with Casino Guru News.
However, according to La Canfora, New York aren't actively forced to trade Wilson.
"It's not a situation where the Jets have to move him. Player, young wide receiver with a nice pedigree out of Ohio State, but who's had an up-and-down sort of career," the analyst and insider explained.
According to La Canfora, the Jets don't have the same motivation to trade Wilson, like the Arizona Cardinals had when they traded Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans recently.
The NFL insider continued, saying: "I mean, Harrison didn't move for a whole lot to go to the Texans," while acknowledging that Wilson has a higher draft pedigree than Harrison.
"Garrett Wilson has done more in the NFL, but Sauce Gardner was considered one of the best corners in the NFL when the Jets traded him, and he was still young," La Canfora said.
The league expert recognized the Jets' desire for draft capital in the context of a potential quarterback they would be looking for the next year.
Finally, La Canfora outlined: "And frankly, multiple executives I've talked to in the league wouldn't be shocked if Garrett Wilson is dealt."
