NFL players often incorporate a range of tactics for offensive and defensive play.
The right strategy can determine game outcomes, and according to one former NFL player, thePittsburgh Steelers’ offensive line has built a strong foundation.
In an exclusive interview for Casino Guru News, Alan Faneca, the former Steelers offensive lineman and legendary NFL player, recognized the leadership of Zach Frazier, describing him as a talented player who is able to set the tone for the unit.
"It’s being held down by Zach in the middle. He’s a great player, great tone setter, I think, for that line, you know. I’ve been watching him a little bit lately, and you know, you look at some of the techniques, and I’m just amazed at it," the NFL legend said.
Referencing one particular blocking technique used by the center player and his teammates, Faneca said he was particularly impressed.
"I need to figure out what they call it, man, but they kind of like hook the arm when they got a double team, hook the leg and like kind of tilt them up and give them a ride," the former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive line said.
The former professional football player admitted it was frustrating to see this unique technique as he immediately said he wished he had used it when he was still playing in the NFL.
"It was a great idea. I don’t know if that’s a league-wide trend or not, but they, they did it a lot. So, they’ve got some good tactics, and I think they’ve got a good core," Faneca continued.
According to the NFL legend, beyond blocking techniques, Pittsburgh has harnessed young talent, have an array of experienced players, and mixing the two promises good results.
"They’re going to get better playing with each other, and a young group is only naturally going to get better. They are playing well now, so I think the bar is just going to keep getting raised the higher they go," Faneca explained in conclusion.
