Dan Quinn, the head coach of the Washington Commanders, is facing scrutiny during a time when the team struggles with losses and doctors fear for Jayden Daniels’ long-term health due to his recent elbow injury.
The award-winning NFL reporter, insider and analyst, Jason La Canfora, discusses the recent challenges the Commanders are facing and questions what path they may take going forward.
"If they keep losing games and this quarterback keeps missing time, head coach Dan Quinn is going to lose his job," La Canfora said in an exclusive interview for Casino Guru News.
The league insider and analyst added: "And I continue to hear that Dan Quinn is on as hot of a hot seat as there is in the league right now, and certainly, Todd Bowles in Tampa."
La Canfora acknowledged that there are other coaches who are also struggling.
However, he said that this year, Quinn had to "show progress and he had to show the ability to keep the quarterback healthy and steward him through a season."
The league insider and analyst pointed to recent losses by the Commanders, explaining Daniels' injuries contributed to those.
This development prompted La Canfora to question what the franchise will focus on in the future.
"Will they stick to the volume they need to have in the run game? Will they bring in an extra offensive lineman to help with that and play with six offensive linemen and sacrifice a skilled player to do that," the NFL analyst asked.
La Canfora said that one major challenge Washington is facing is whether they can adapt their offensive approach to reduce the pressure on Daniels while still competing to win games.
"Will they protect, max protect and keep tight ends in and chip and have those running backs doing everything they can to keep blitzing linebackers off of Jayden Daniels," La Canfora asked in conclusion.
