The NFL trade deadline is near, and franchises are looking forward to strengthening their rosters.

Joey Slye, the Tennessee Titans’ kicker, may become a trade target for the San Francisco 49ers just ahead of the upcoming trade deadline, according to Jason La Canfora, the award-winning NFL reporter, insider, and analyst.

"Nobody talks about kickers. Nobody cares about kickers until your kicker misses a big kick," the insider said in an exclusive interview with Casino Guru News.

La Canfora acknowledged that San Francisco isn’t the only team that may show interest in the Titans’ kicker.

He explained that the Los Angeles Rams may also explore options for a trade with the Titans for Joey Slye.

"There’s a lot of contending teams that don’t the kind of kicker they’d like, the LA Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, just in the NFC West alone," La Canfora revealed.

The league insider mentioned Slye’s strong season at the Tennessee Titans, adding that the experienced player has, in fact, demonstrated strong performance over multiple seasons.

According to La Canfora, Joey Slye has "become very much an above-average kicker, almost an elite kicker."

Although he is getting older, the NFL insider said that Slye isn’t that old "by kicker standards."

Besides being a good kicker, Slye is an attractive trade target as a potential deal might be affordable for interested teams, considering that his contract is expiring, the league insider highlighted.

"An expiring contract, only $2m he’s being paid this year. If you get him at the deadline, you’re picking him up basically for a million dollars," La Canfora said.

The award-winning NFL reporter and analyst once again pointed to the challenges the 49ers are experiencing in the postseason when it comes to kicking, adding that he wouldn’t be shocked if he sees Joey Slye join San Francisco.
