The Pennsylvania Lottery has shared the news that it has awarded an online prize worth $898,271 to one lucky player from Berks County.
The player, who was not identified by name, was playing the online game Monopoly Progressive Jackpots, part of the lottery’s eInstant game portfolio.
This game specifically features two shared progressive jackpots that are divvied up between multiple states, with players in each partner jurisdiction having the opportunity to win the grand prize at any time.
Part of each sale also contributes to the progressive jackpot, which continues to grow the overall size of the jackpot, even when it has been won and reset.
The $898,271 secured by the player was part of a wider trend in lottery winnings in the Keystone State. The Pennsylvania Lottery used the occasion of the latest win to remind players that they can access games and purchase tickets through the lottery’s website and official app, including for games such as the Powerball, Mega Millions, Treasure Hunt, and more.
Yet, this is not the only big win the state has had to report recently. Last week, a ticket won $1,700,176.50 from the Cash 5 with Quick Cash during the Thursday, September 24 drawing. The ticket had successfully matched the winning numbers: 2, 15, 18, 20, and 33.
The retailer that sold the ticket, a Save A Lot in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, will also receive the customary bonus, in this case $10,000, for selling the winning ticket.
During the September 24 drawing, 31,000 tickets won prizes.
