A person in New Jersey had an extraordinary spot of good luck after they managed to win the rather large $585,900 prize from a popular jackpot game in the Garden State.

The anonymous winner bought the ticket in Morris County and matched all five numbers required to win the top prize, becoming the 25th jackpot winner in 2025 alone! The jackpot has also guaranteed a small premium for the retailer that sold the winning ticket, and who will now be getting $2,000.

The person who won had guessed the numbers correctly, putting them down: 5, 26, 30, 34, and 42.

The win occurred on May 18 as per the New Jersey Lottery’s official press statement, but further details about the winner were not readily available. However, many people came close to hitting all five numbers for the May 18 drawing.

The lottery mentioned that 19 other players managed to guess four of the five numbers and won $500 each.

Cash 5 is a pretty popular game, not just in New Jersey, but also well beyond. In North Carolina, a teacher won $172,000 playing the game earlier in May. Another person in the state won $250,000 playing in February, and wins have also occurred in South Carolina recently.
