An incredibly lucky man who told his friends that one day he would win big was surprised by a life-enhancing lottery prize.
That’s the story of a Rocky Mount man, who scored one of the top prizes from a popular scratch-off game in North Carolina.
The winner tried his luck with the North Carolina Education Lottery’s $100,000 Cash Payday ticket.
The man purchased his ticket at Dabney Speed EZS Mart on Western Boulevard in Tarboro.
Interestingly, after scratching off the ticket, the player discovered that he had won one of the outstanding top prizes for a sweet $100,000 payday.
In an interview with an official with the North Carolina Education Lottery, the fortunate player spoke with excitement about the unexpected windfall.
Recalling the moment of the win, the player said: "This is the best feeling in the world."
Moreover, the Rocky Mount man explained: "I told my buddies I was going to hit for $100,000. It was just my time."
The fortunate man visited the Lottery headquarters earlier this week to claim his lottery prize.
After the applicable federal and state taxes, the Edgecombe County man’s bank account increased by $72,000 and change.
Asked about his plans for his newfound fortune, the man admitted that he intends to buy a house.
