A lottery player in Michigan beat the odds of 1 in 2.5m to win a sweet six-figure prize.
On Thursday, the Michigan Lottery released details regarding the winner of the top prize from its popular game, KENO!
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket at Conant-Caniff Market, located at 11303 Conant Street in Hamtramck.
The fortunate 60-year-old Wayne County man matched correctly 10 out of 22 numbers drawn on October 10, 2025.
As a result, he scored the top prize from KENO! for a sweet $250,000 payday.
To win the game's top prize, the Wayne County man picked the numbers 01, 08, 11, 15, 16, 22, 45, 47, 66 and 74.
In an interview for the Michigan Lottery, the winner said: "My wife and I have been playing KENO! for quite a while and we always play the same set of numbers."
The lucky Wayne County man admitted that the day after the drawing, he gave his wife the ticket to check it via the Michigan Lottery's official website.
"When she realized we had won $250,000 she checked the numbers three more times and then took the ticket to the store to scan it and make sure it was real. We are ecstatic," the lucky man added.
Finally, the KENO! top prize winner acknowledged that winning such a prize felt "surreal."
Michigan Lottery's KENO! game grants players a chance to win a prize between $1 and a top prize of $250,000.
Matching 10 out of 22 numbers awards the game's top prize, while players who match nine numbers win a tier-two prize of $2,500.
While the odds of winning $250,000 from KENO! are 1 in 2,546,203, the odds of taking home a tier-two prize of $2,500 are 1 in 57,070.
A tier-three prize awards $250, and players who match eight out of 22 numbers are entitled to such a win.
KENO! drawings take place daily at 7:29 PM and the game is available only to players in Michigan.
