A woman in Massachusetts has been able to scoop a massive jackpot from the state lottery, claiming a six-figure payout.
The award, $500,000 before all applicable taxes, has been secured by one Louann Briscoe of Groveland, who played the aptly called "$500,000 Frenzy" instant ticket game.
She bought her ticket at Crosby's Marketplace, located at 62 Central St. in Georgetown.
The winner has, naturally, opted for the lump-sum payment and will be putting it to good use right away, allocating the money to pay for tuition costs for her grandchildren in college.
"I’m happy and excited because we can use it to take care of our family. I’m very grateful," Briscoe told the lottery, sharing her excitement at the news.
However, Briscoe is not the only recent winner to have clinched the top prize from the game; another winner, Joshua McConnell, also claimed the top prize not long ago.
McConnell purchased his ticket at Town Mart, located at 10 Federal Street in Belchertown.
