Lucky number 7: Michigan man secures $1m payout, snatching last top prize for game

The Michigan Lottery has reported on more happy events, with a single ticket belgonging to a 62-year-old Oakland County man hitting a $1,000,000 payout.

The news was shared by the official lottery website and went into detail about how it all happened. The man decided to play a Lady Luck 777 ticket, and that would turn into one of the best decisions he has ever made.

Four tickets bought - one million dollars won

With a single top prize on the line, the $1,000,000 win is even more significant. He bought four tickets in total and headed home. To the Michigan Lottery, he said:

"I scratched the tickets when I got in my car and was shocked when I saw I'd won $1 million on the Lady Luck 777 game. I went back into the store, held the ticket up to the clerk, and said, 'You sold me a big winner!' It was amazing."

The man has already claimed his prize, with the $10 ticket fetching him a payment of $693,000 as he opted for the lump-sum.

Earlier this year, another Michigan man had a spot of good luck after he realized that what he thought to have been a $50,000 lottery prize was in fact one 0 short. The 51-year-old Genesee County resident ended up with $500,000 instead.
