Lottery player picks numbers based on mood, wins AU$2m jackpot

An incredibly fortunate lottery player is starting the week in an extraordinary fashion thanks to a life-changing multi-million-dollar win.

That’s the story of one Oatley, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia dad, who scored one of the five division one winning entries from Saturday Lotto’s latest drawing.

The player’s payout increased

The lucky man entered Saturday Lotto draw 4677 on May 16, 2026.

He purchased his winning System 8 entry from The Lott’s official application.

Saturday Lotto draw 4677 saw winning numbers 32, 10, 3, 39, 33 and 23, along with supplementary numbers 42 and 37 drawn.

Interestingly, the fortunate Oatley man’s entry was one out of a total of five division one entries, each entitled to a sweet AU$2m payday.

However, in the case of the Sydney resident, he also scored division three a dozen times and division four on 15 times, increasing his total winnings to AU$2,011,383.05 ($1.44m).

Besides the fortunate man’s division one winning entry in New South Wales, another entry came from Victoria and three from Queensland.

The winner is a seasoned lottery player

Contacted by The Lott on Monday, the winner was initially in disbelief and shock.

He agreed to check the win via The Lott’s app and this is when he said: "Thank you! That’s so exiting!"

The fortunate man added: "I was a bit cautious at first. I was thinking, ‘How do I know this is real?’ but now I can see it in my app, this is incredible."

The lucky player admitted that he has been playing for 40 years.

He explained that he doesn’t always use the same lottery numbers, saying: "I just pick them based on my mood."

Not unexpectedly, the AU$2m jackpot winner admitted that he is still in shock, outlining that he doesn’t have immediate plans for his newfound fortune.

Still, the fortunate Oatley dad said: "I’ll go out to dinner to celebrate with my daughter. We’ll keep it simple."
