A man from Quincy, Massachusetts, ended up sweeping the largest casino jackpot ever won at Encore Boston Harbor and the Bay State, according to the property’s own telling.
The player, who was not named by the property, secured a $1.62m win playing Royal 9 Baccarat, a progressive jackpot game.
In a news report, CBS Boston confirmed that this has also been the largest win to ever occur at the Encore Boston Harbor.
No further details bout the win were provided at the time of writing. Jackpots have been dropping all over the place over the past days.
In Illinois, an asylum-seeker was finally granted his $1,250 jackpot after Bally’s temporary casino in Chicago refused to pay him out, presumably on grounds of his immigration status.
The man had a temporary driving license, which would be considered an eligible document by most casinos. After contacting CBS Chicago and breaking the story, the casino sought the winner and paid the money out.
But perhaps most memorable of all is the Christmas Eve’s Powerball win, which fetched one lucky person a $1.8bn payout. The person has not yet stepped forward to claim their prize, however, giving rise to speculation that the ticket may have been lost.
The winner has 180 days through the end of June to claim the prize.
