  • More than $12m was paid in just three jackpot wins over the weekend in Illinois
  • The largest win stood at a whopping $11.6m and was secured from the Lotto game
  • Smaller six-figure wins were also awarded to players, along with bonuses to the venues that sold the tickets

The Illinois Lottery has much happy news to report over the weekend, with a total of $12m paid out in fresh jackpots across several games.

Three huge jackpots drop in a single weekend

In an official press release, the lottery detailed the wins, which were secured across three of its games, including:

  • Lotto - $11.6m
  • Lucky Day Lotto - $700,00
  • Fast Play Twenty 20s - $481,907

All three games brought significant sums to their winners, with the eye-watering 11.6m won by a single tickety holder on Saturday, January 24, the biggest win in the state so far this year.

The ticket leading to the gargantuan prize was bought at truenorth located at 2345 W. Bartlett Road in Bartlett, Illinois. The business is also getting a small cut, as per lottery rules, for selling the winning ticket - a notinsignificant $116,000 bonus.

As to the winning numbers, those were 5,6, 8, 27, 40, and 50. Yet, this was not the only great story on Saturday, with a Fast Play Twenty 20s online player also scooping a bit of money, winning the $481,907 jackpot.

Not least, a player won a little earlier - on Friday, January 23, buying their Lucky Day Lotto ticket at a Shell gas station at 5201 N. Western Ave. in Chicago, which resulted in $700,000 payout.
