A lottery club consisting of several members is looking forward to enjoying a sweet million-dollar prize.
That’s the case for the Lucky Leprechauns lottery club in Michigan, which scored the top prize from the Michigan Lottery’s Cash Surge instant game.
The popular game has a $10 price tag and grants players a chance to win a prize between $10 and $1m.
The four-member lottery club purchased its Cash Surge ticket from Busch’s, located at 1450 West Chicago Boulevard in Tecumseh.
Surprisingly, they scored one of the game’s remaining top prizes for a sweet $1m payday.
Speaking to an official from the Michigan Lottery, a representative of the lottery club explained that it consists of only a handful of members.
"A few family members and I started playing the lottery together earlier this year," the representative said.
"I bought the ticket and gave it to one of the other club members to scratch," the person representing the Lucky Leprechauns lottery club added.
Recalling the moment of the win, the representative said: "When she said we’d won $1 million, I thought it was a joke. It was shocking and unbelievable!"
The four-member lottery club recently visited the Maryland Lottery to claim their big win.
Instead of annuity payments for the full amount, the four-member Lucky Leprechauns lottery club chose a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $693,000.
"With our winnings, we plan to spend some, share some, and save some," said one of the members of the Lenawee County lottery club when asked about their plans for the newfound fortune.
