Colorado $2m winning ticket bought - winner yet to step forward

• A Colorado player from Windsor came reasonably close to winning the Mega Millions jackpot
• The player - or players - matched the five numbers for the Tuesday drawing but missed the Mega Ball number
• Regardless, thanks to the 2x multiplier, the winner(s) will now cash in on $2,000,000

The Colorado Lottery confirmed that a resident in Windsor has bought and won a multi-million lottery ticket and is now set to scoop $2,000,000 from the lottery.

The ticket, the lottery clarified, was sold at the Windsor King Soopers at 1520 Main St. and managed to match all five numbers of Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, missing just a single number to scoop the grand jackpot: the Mega Ball of 8.

​The winner matched the main numbers for the draw correctly, hitting their prize on 7, 13, 26, 37, and 68. The player - or possibly players - will now have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize.

​The player also had a 2x multiplier running, which allowed him to flip his base prize of $1,000,000 into a $2,000,000 payday instead.

The player need not feel bad, however, as even though they missed the Mega Ball number, the odds of actually securing the grand jackpot are 1 in 290,000,000.
