  • A man who was previously homeless had a stroke of good luck, winning $1,000,000 from the Colorado Lottery
  • He had purchased a $20 200X lottery ticket to cope with frustration on a particularly difficult day at work
  • The million-dollar prize will go a long way to helping the winner offer his girlfriend and kids the life they deserve

Jonathan G, the freshly-minted millionaire in Colorado, has not always had it that easy. In fact, before finding a job and getting his life back on track, Jonathan was homeless, making him all the more appreciative of how things have worked out for him.

A frustrating day at work leads to an impulse decision that fetches a lottery player $1M

But setting back into his normal work-a-day life, Jonathan has known frustration at his job where he works as a cell phone representative in Alamosa. On one fateful day, however, his frustration with the everyday pangs of adulthood had pushed him into purchasing a $20 lottery ticket for the 200X game.

Jonathan has learned how to manage risk after his homeless stint, and he has been taking things easy, but on that particular day, he decided to spend a little more than his usual $5 lottery purchase, and a good thing he did.

Still, he had that little voice in his head: "Why don’t you try the $20, what is the worst that could happen?"

Jonathan challenged fate and asked - What is the worst that could happen?

He was soon shocked to find out that his ticket had yielded a $1,000,000 payout. "I was in disbelief," the freshly-minted lottery winner said.

Jonathan was happy to share his feelings of elation and the gratitude he felt for his award with the Colorado Lottery, saying that the money would go a long way in helping him turn his life around altogether.

He said that he would use the money to offer his children and his girlfriend the life they deserve. The ticket came at a time when he was struggling to make sales on the job, and was fearing that he would end up back in homelessness.

"I was having a tough sales day, and it actually paid off. I definitely plan on giving my girlfriend and kids a life that I never thought was possible," Jonathan G said. It is the kind of life that he and his girlfriend have been working very hard to have.
