One incredibly lucky Aussie lottery player was in disbelief after receiving a call Friday morning, notifying her of a multi-million-dollar jackpot win.
The fortunate winner, a Mount Gravatt woman, whose identity wasn't publicly disclosed, received a call from an official from The Lott, telling her that she scored a division one prize from last night's Powerball for a sweet AU$5m ($3.2m) prize.
The lucky woman purchased her 12-game entry via The Lott's official app.
She emerged as the winner of Powerball's drawing 1540 on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
That particular drawing saw winning numbers 19, 11, 12, 4, 29, 13 and 27, along with the most important Powerball number 20, drawn.
As the sole division one winning entry, the Queenslander will benefit from the mind-boggling sum of AU$5,251,913.32 ($3.4m).
So far, in 2025, The Lott has recorded 381 division one winning entries across the country.
On the other hand, in FY25, Powerball division one winning entries awarded more than AU$636m in prizes.
As noted, the happy Queensland woman was contacted by an official from The Lott on Friday morning and, upon hearing the good news, yelled: "Oh my god! Oh my god!"
The woman, having no idea that she had scored such a life-changing prize, admitted to shaking with excitement.
"I can’t stop shaking! My husband is right next to me and we’re in absolute disbelief," the winner added.
Interestingly, the winner missed The Lott's first call, said that the number she saw looked "dodgy" and nearly didn't call back.
Lucky for her, the woman said that she is glad that she called back the same number that tried to reach her.
Focusing on the winning numbers, the Mount Gravatt woman said: "Now that I look at the numbers, the winning numbers are all family numbers – birthdates and anniversaries!"
The lucky Aussie woman added that she plans to share the life-changing prize with her family.
"This means my husband can retire," she revealed.
Finally, the woman said that while she thought that after winning the lottery she would like to keep the news a secret, now that this has happened, she wants to shout it from the rooftop.
