BetMGM touts record-setting CA$1.6m jackpot in Ontario

• BetMGM is offering an unprecedented CA$1.6m progressive jackpot in Ontario

BetMGM has been in the habit of grabbing the news limelight when it comes to jackpots. A player in New Jersey, the United States, won a $6.5m jackpot playing at the BetMGM Casino in August 2024, and now, the company has reported that the progressive jackpot for its online casino in Ontario has reached a record-setting CA$1.6m ($1.12m).

BetMGM’s Ontario’s jackpot is now at a record high

To have a shot at winning the continuously increasing amount, the company has invited players to try their hand at either BetMGM Casino or Wheel of Fortune Casino, which are both tied into the same progressive jackpot network and run by the company.

The list of the available games that may trigger the eye-watering payout is fittingly varied and will have something in store for every player, with the games developed exclusively for theBetMGM and Wheel of Fortune casinos by Entain.

The games allow players to either trigger the seven-figure jackpot or contribute to it, as every time a round is played, a small amount is allocated to the grand total of the top prize.

Although this is the first time that BetMGM has CA$1.6m to offer in Canada in a single progressive jackpot game, the company has already paid out more than CA$14m ($9.83m) to players in Ontario in 2024.

BetMGM’s progressive jackpot network currently encompasses 25 select titles, with more being added to offer players even greater variety. Commenting on this new milestone, BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost had this to say on the occasion:

BetMGM progressive jackpots turn more players into big winners

The company was also able to award another record-setting progressive jackpot in West Virginia, where a player won $923,347 exploring BetMGM’s progressive range in January this year. The jackpot was won on the similarly popular game 15 Lanterns.

In March, a lucky player won two six-figure jackpots back-to-back playing on February 19 and February 20, 2025.

The player scooped up a $577,16 payout with a $5 spin on MGM Grand Millions on the first day and then came back for seconds and won $654,175 with a $60 spin on MegaJackpots Fortune Coin.

BetMGM has awarded more than $128.5m to players through its progressive jackpot games in 2024 alone.
