Spribe has continued to partner up with various mixed martial arts fighters, and specifically, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stars. Spribe and the UFC have been working together to promote each other’s respective brands, with the crash games maker now recruiting Michael "Venom" Page as its latest brand ambassador.
Known as MVP among the MMA community, he is a respected athlete who has been dominating the UFC welter and middleweight categories and is not slowing down. It’s this drive that aligns with Spribe’s own game design philosophy and bold out-of-the-box thinking.
Naturally, MVP is a fan-favorite, as is Spribe’s Aviator, its flagship game, which Page will now represent. Aviator has become a global hit these days, with the company hoping to see as many as 100m active players before long.
Yet, this wasn’t always the case. In the early days, Spribe would have a hard time convincing anyone to even try the game, with the title not fitting in the overall slot-driven logic of the industry.
However, David Natroshvili, Spribe’s Co-founder and CEO, brought the game into the public eye with a simple question: "Hey, my name is David, have you seen this game?" While not always getting the results he had hoped for, Natroshvili eventually demonstrated Aviator’s staying power, out-of-the-box gameplay, and value as a product that elicits strong engagement and retention.
The partnership with MVP only adds to this momentum, but it also comes in the larger context of multiple other similar tie-ups with UFC stars, among which are Alex Pereira, Johnny Walker, Merab Dvalishvili, Diego Lopes, and others.
Aviator has been actively teaming up with UFC stars, with Spribe CCO Giorgi Tsutskiridze welcoming the newest opportunity:
"We are thrilled to add Michael "Venom" Page to our lineup of Aviator brand ambassadors and for him to be taking part in some truly epic campaigns over the coming 12 months."
Tsutskiridze compared the adrenaline UFC fighters experience to the feeling that players get when they are deliberating when to exit a game round of Aviator, against the mounting multiplier that could bring even better wins.
For his part, Page was similarly pleased with the idea of representing Aviator and accompanying it on its unchecked growth journey: "Nothing beats stepping into the Octagon and going toe to toe with an opponent, but strapping in a taking flight with Aviator comes pretty close."
