  • SBC Summit 2025 welcomes a new dedicated track that will talk about regulation in some of the most regulation-heavy markets in Europe
  • The discussions and panels will focus on how existing operators in those markets can retain and strengthen their positions and how new ones may break ground
  • This particular track will reunite a number of dignitaries who are local market experts with much insight to offer

SBC Summit 2025 is fast approaching, with the event set to address some of the most important topics in the industry.

One of the focal points of the event due to take place this September is the Global Markets – Western Europe track, which will be specifically focusing on tackling retention and regulation in some of Europe’s most demanding and competitive gaming markets.

SBC Summit 2025 adds a new track to tackle Western European markets

Delegates and attendees at the Lisbon’s Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) will have the opportunity to show on Wednesday, September 17, and hear about actionable strategies for thriving in regulation-heavy markets such as Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Nordics, and beyond.

The discussions will specifically address the evolving nature of regulation and how it fits in with the age of consumer protection mandates, which have been an increasing part of any new change passed to existing gambling frameworks.

These topics will also address how operators may expand regionally or maintain an already established presence in the country in which they operate, including key areas such as player retention, compliance, and innovation. Commenting on this fresh opportunity, SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark said:

"Western Europe has long set the standard for gambling regulation, but the landscape continues to evolve. Today’s leading operators must build strong relationships with regulators, drive responsible innovation, and retain customers in an increasingly complex global environment. This track provides the practical insight and expert guidance delegates need to succeed in Western Europe."

Among the noteworthy panels that are worth attending and hearing in person are such prominent discussions as.

  • European Leaders Panel: Old World, New Way Forward–How the Most Established Brands Are Rethinking Regulation and Retention
  • Italy’s New Online Gambling Regime: A Game-Changer for the Industry
  • Portugal: Smooth Sailing or Danger Ahead?
  • Over the Finnish Line: Regulation in the Nordics

The discussions will involve many prominent figures, among whom are Pascal Chaffard (CFO & Strategy Officer, FDJ), Axel Hefer (CEO, Tipico), Vlad Kaltenieks (CEO, BoyleSports), Mattias Wedar (CEO, LeoVegas).

Other prominent dignitaries attending include specialists in Italian gambling markets such as Fabio A. Bufalini (Country Director Italy, Stake), Marco Castaldo (CEO, Microgame), Will Shuckburgh (CEO, eCogra), Nicola Tani (Chief Editor, Agipro), Stefano Tino (Managing Director Italy, Betsson), and Marco Tiso (Managing Director, Sisal).

The Global Markets – Western Europe track joins several others, with the event, due to take place on September 16-18 in Barcelona, Spain, also hosting other relevant and important tracks.

Among those are: Global Markets – Latin America and Brazil, and Global Markets – North America.
