RubyPlay has agreed to acquire 100% of iGaming tech company Splash Tech, with the latter to constitute a significant boost to the studio’s F2P and engagement capabilities through tournament solutions and more.
Hailed as a strategic expansion by RubyPlay, the move is intended to significantly enhance the studio’s overall ecosystem, providing partner operators new ways to leverage the studio’s popular games while engaging with their audiences.
Notably, Splash Tech runs the real-money jackpot solution that has already been launched with multiple of the industry’s biggest operators, and it will contribute to building what has been described as a broader scalable engagement layer.
The engagement suite already includes solutions such as free spins, rewards, missions and tournaments, but Splash Tech’s acquisition will directly enhance those and lead to new ways to boost ROI and revenues, as well as drive stronger acquisition, engagement, retention, cross-sell results, and monetization, the studio said in a press statement detailing the deal.
Once the acquisition is complete, RubyPlay’s partners will be able to access Splash Tech’s jackpot and free-to-play capabilities as well. Besides this acquisition, RubyPlay has been actively seeking to strengthen its overall capacities.
The company recently expanded in New Jersey with Fanatics Casino, and it has been building on its technological aspect further, introducing Firerose, a studio that is going to shift the regular cadence of development and focus on more original storytelling through casino games that are brand-specific.
Commenting on the release of Firerose at the time, RubyPlay explained: "The market is no longer driven solely by volume, but by identity. Operators want experiences that feel native to their brand and help them clearly differentiate in increasingly competitive casino environments."
The acquisition of Splash Tech only further fuels those ambitions. RubyPlay seeks to position itself not only as a content provider but as a driver of tangible innovation in iGaming.
