The leading global provider of games, technology and solutions, IGT, announced it extended its contract with the lottery in Rhode Island.
Earlier this week, the company confirmed that it has signed a two-year contract extension with the Rhode Island Lottery.
It was back in 2018 when the Rhode Island Lottery joined forces with IGT and Caesars Sportsbook, enhancing its retail operations and delivering sports betting.
Since then, the Lottery has enjoyed solid results, powered by the two leading gaming companies.
Now, IGT will continue to power the Rhode Island Lottery via its IGT PlaySports technology.
This will see the lottery operator continue to leverage a range of innovative solutions for retail and mobile sports betting.
A statement released by IGT confirms that under the newly signed two-year contract extension, the duo will continue their collaboration through at least November 2028.
Joe Bertolone, IGT's SVP Sports Betting, spoke with excitement about the new deal.
"IGT is very pleased to continue our long-term relationship with the Rhode Island Lottery through 2028 and help generate important revenue for the State through its sports betting operations powered by PlaySports technology," he explained.
Moreover, Bertolone pointed out: "IGT PlaySports continues to invest in the Sportsbook Rhode Island app to ensure the Lottery is offering a premier betting product that makes a positive impact on the State's commitments to good causes."
Only recently, IGT confirmed that Hector Fernandez assumed the role of CEO.
