The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) has issued its highest honor for responsible gambling and player protection bestowed upon companies with significant contributions to making the online and land-based gaming industries safe. As a result, the RGC has awarded BetMGM with its top accreditation, recognizing the operator and brand’s sustained efforts in making the North American iGaming, sports betting, and gaming markets safer for all.

This accreditation is only given to companies that put a strong focus on player health and work to introduce safeguards that help protect vulnerable consumers. BetMGM is proud to have received this accolade, as it’s one of the highest benchmarks any entity in the gambling industry can pursue and achieve when seeking to prove that its efforts towards responsible and safe gambling are actually tailored to protect consumers first.

The RGC awards the "RG Check" distinction after a meticulous evaluation process that takes a good, hard look at a brand’s responsible gambling program and whether the core principles of responsible gambling are incorporated into the entirety of a company’s offer. Commenting on this achievement, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt has welcomed the chance to see his company distinguished with the RG Check certification.

"This accreditation is a testament to our ongoing efforts to promote responsibility throughout our business and to ensure the well-being of our customers," Greenblatt said. Yet, this is not the end of the road for the company, which will continue to work hard and promote a culture of safe and enjoyable gambling.

For its part, the RG Check has required a rigorous evaluation process that left no stone unturned and probed for any deficiencies and shortcomings that BetMGM might have in its offering. All protection measures were up to industry snuff, making it easy for the RGC to issue the certification in the end. The RG Check distinction was specifically issued to BetMGM’s US and Ontario operations, as well as the Borgata Online brand.

Commenting on this development, RGC CEO Shelley White said that the RG Check accreditation was in itself a benchmark of player protection measures. "We commend BetMGM for its dedication to promoting responsible gambling practices and its efforts to ensure the well-being of their players," White said, commending once again the company on its clear commitment to responsible gambling.

BetMGM is a member of the Responsible Gambling Coalition, which recently saw the addition of PointsBet, Fanatics Betting and Gaming and Hard Rock Digital.
