The leading provider of live betting, PointsBet, announced it opened a new retail location in Illinois. The company announced Friday it opened its newest off-track sports betting destination under a collaboration with the largest network of off-track betting bars for horse racing in the state, Hawthorne Race Course.

The new PointsBet retail sportsbook is located at Club Hawthorne in Villa Park. The retail outlet marks the fourth such location and offers plenty of amenities for sports fans and bettors. Visitors of the retail outlet can use eight self-service betting kiosks or three betting windows to place a wager.

The overall capacity of the horse racing and sports bar is 400 people and it offers five 160" jumbo displays as well as a 26-foot-wide HD display. The location has more than 160 TVs with high resolution, a fully covered heated patio and a private party and VIP room.

Additional amenities include a full-service bar that offers craft beers and more than 150 different whiskeys. The new retail betting outlet also offers dining options. PointsBet retail sportsbook offers sports betting between Monday and Thursday from 10 am until 9 pm. On the weekends, bettors can wager on sports between 9 am and 9 pm. On the other hand, betting on horse racing is possible daily between 10 am and 10 pm and between 10 am and 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Tim Carey, Hawthorne Race Course's CEO, shared his excitement in a statement released on January 13, 2023, saying: "There's nowhere else in Chicagoland where you can bet on sports, horse racing and video slots." Finally, he explained that Club Hawthorne betting bars are the only locations that combine great food, drinks and unique sports entertainment.

Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA's CEO, was also excited about the new retail betting outlet. "With a full roster of NFL playoffs, NBA, and NHL games, we couldn't be more excited to be offering a new destination for Illinois sports fans to enjoy and bet on their favorite sports," he pointed out.

Last but not least, Aitken said: "The PointsBet Retail Sportsbook is part of PointsBet's continued efforts to expand our footprint in a key state like Illinois, and we're thrilled to be able to provide the Illinois sports community with another premier location that caters to both sports fans and bettors – and everyone in between."

The recent launch complements PointsBet's continuous growth. By now, the company has established its presence by offering sports betting in more than a dozen US states. Additionally, PointsBet offers online casino services in key US markets such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey and West Virginia.
