Playnetic has become the latest company to secure a license to enter the highly coveted iGaming market in Ontario. The company obtained the B2B licensure from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which oversees the regulated market in the Canadian province.

Playnetic breaks ground in Canada’s online casino sector

Playnetic has met regulatory standards, allowing it to start offering its curated list of games locally and with regulated online casinos in the jurisdiction. This could also serve as an important step further into the country, as Alberta is preparing to possibly regulate and expand its own framework.

Playnetic CEO Dan Phillips has welcomed the opportunity to see his company acquire this important regulatory distinction and advance further into the iGaming market in North America, with this constituting the supplier’s Canadian market.

"The new license not only secures our first Canadian market entry, but also reaffirmsPlaynetic’s position as a trusted provider in iGaming and underlines our commitment to compliance and operational excellence."

Playnetic CCO Julian Borg-Barthet has been similarly pleased with this seminal achievement that allows the company to further consolidate its presence in the thriving iGaming ecosystem, and with an important market entry of all things.

"Over time, we’re confident this license will also help us expand further into current markets and emerging regulated provinces, such as Alberta," Borg-Barthet said, revealing the company’s ambitions to expand in Alberta when and if this becomes a possibility, with the firm setting out bigger plans for Canada as a whole.

Alberta is next on Playnetic’s plans to expand in Canada

Playnetic has been strengthening its global footprint in the meantime, with the company negotiating a number of important deals. The supplier teamed up with REEVO, a developer of casino games as well as a provider of aggregator solutions, earlier this month.

In March, Playnetic also pursued another similar opportunity with Microgame, with the company bringing its titles onto the local market in Italy, allowing it to team up with more than 60 operators in the same move.

Playnetic has developed several excellent slot games, such as Lucky Lucy Rainbow Party, Lucky Licks, Hysteria, Miners Are Wild Ca$hRush, and Angry Zeus Jackpot, among others.
