Octoplay’s Chief Executive Officer, Carl Ejlertsson, has announced that he will relinquish his role at the helm of the acclaimed iGaming studio and developer, while remaining engaged with the company and helping spearhead its creative direction.
Announcing the news via his LinkedIn profile, Ejlertsson said that he will focus his efforts on the strategic and creative sides of the business, which he argued were closer to his heart, and he felt more at home doing.
Ejlertsson is handing over the hot seat to Ralitsa Georgieva, a longstanding industry and Octoplay veteran who is stepping up from her current position as Director of Business Development.
The outgoing CEO welcomed her appointment: "Rali has been a huge part of the journey that brought us here. Her integrity, commercial instinct, and leadership have shaped Octoplay in ways that go far beyond any title. Since joining, she's been the driving force behind our commercial expansion, from our first European partnerships to our US market entry.
Ejlertsson welcomed the company decision and said that he was confident that Georgieva would succeed him, looking out for the company’s best interest.
The outgoing incumbent similarly pointed to the fact that Octoplay has come since it was founded back in October 2022, starting as a low-key studio with a clear ambition for differentiation and growth.
The studio has been able to significantly scale its presence with more than 200 released games and 15 licenses secured across multiple jurisdictions, and not least through momentous market-entries into the United States and North America.
