Microgaming, one of the premier developers of iGaming content and author of the popular Mega Moolah progressive jackpot series, has made an important C-level change. Stephen Fisk, the company’s hitherto Chief Operating Officer, is taking the reins over from Andrew Clucas, the incumbent, as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
The change happens with "immediate effect," the company reported on Tuesday. Clucas said that it had been an honor to work with the company for the past 14 years and assured that the new chief executive was a great pick. He argued that Fisk is the most qualified successor Microgaming could have picked.
Fisk makes for a good call for a new CEO, as he has worked together with Microgaming for more than six years, helping Microgaming direct many of its businesses and operations over that period.
He first joined the company as Director of Sportsbook and was in charge of the company’s sports betting platform and vertical. Fisk oversaw the development and growth of Microgaming’s proprietary betting solutions, establishing his credentials as a knowledgeable and skilled manager and executive.
In his most recent position as COO, Fisk continued to collaborate closely with teams from across Microgaming to ensure that the company remains on the right track. Outside of Microgaming, Fisk is a well-seasoned industry veteran with more than 24 years of experience, working for some of the most prominent companies in the sector.
On the occasion of accepting the new position, Fisk thanked Microgaming for putting its trust in him. He then praised the company’s achievements over the past years and what the brand has come to signify.
"Our technology is cutting edge, our experience second to none and we absolutely have the best team in the business," Fisk explained.
He thanked Clucas for his crucial efforts in guaranteeing Microgaming’s success over the years and was now thankful to take over. Fisk also tied Clucas’ time as executive as a time when Microgaming gained a "sense of unity," which he now intended to carry on.
Fisk's stint with the company in several positions has allowed him to gain an intimate and familiar understanding of how the company works, including its products, business, people, and customers. Fisk will now move forward as CEO to ensure that Microgaming continues on its growth journey over the coming months.
