The globally-recognized gaming, entertainment and hospitality company, MGM Resorts International, announced it was recognized for its efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion. On Wednesday, the company revealed that it was named one of the Best Companies for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) for 2023 by the leading media company dedicated to Black business and economic empowerment, Black Enterprise, a statement reveals. The milestone achievement highlights the gaming and entertainment company's strong dedication to creating an inclusive workplace that stands out with diversification and at the same time grants equal opportunities for its employees.
Jyoti Chopra, MGM Resorts' Chief People, Inclusion and Sustainability Officer, shared her excitement about the latest achievement. "MGM Resorts is honored to receive this recognition by Black Enterprise, which serves as a testament to our ongoing efforts in fostering an inclusive environment that encourages innovation, embraces diverse perspectives and champions equality for all," she said. Last but not least, Chopra pointed out: "As a leader in our community, we strive to create a positive impact by addressing social and economic disparities to drive sustainable change."
Overall, some 60 other companies and organizations participated in this year's list by Black Enterprise. MGM Resorts was the single gambling company recognized by this year's list, reaffirming its strong commitment to DEI and its ongoing efforts. According to Black Enterprise, the recently recognized companies were selected for their "unwavering commitment to creating dynamic workforces, diverse corporate governance, expansive supply chains and inclusive management."
MGM Resorts' dedication to DEI involves extensive programs and initiatives. The company continuously invests in a diverse workforce and recruits new members. This complements its diversity program while at the same time ensuring the growth of strategic employee initiatives that promote a diverse and inclusive workforce. Additionally, MGM Resorts supports diverse communities and concentrates on education programs through collaborations with different local organizations.
MGM Resorts isn't the only company recognized for its diversity and inclusion efforts recently. Last month, International Game Technology (IGT), the global gaming company powering gaming and betting operators, announced that it secured the 2023 Women in Gaming (WIG) recognition from the Diversity & Employee Wellbeing Awards. At the time, IGT said that it was recognized for its DEI efforts by securing the award which was from the "Diversity and Inclusion" category.
Earlier this year, the leading digital sports media group, Better Collective, announced it joined the All-In Diversity Project, which represents a unique initiative for the iGaming vertical that focuses on boosting diversity and equality for the sector.
